Description
Philodendron hastatum with a common name of Silver Sword is an elegant vining plant with silver colored foliage although its leaves are not really in a sword shape 😊. It may take ten years for a silver sword plant to reach its maturity to flower. The plant is relatively rare, and it is more than worth it to add it to your indoor plant collection/home decoration. Silver sword is much easier to care for than finding it. It adapts to a wide range of indoor conditions.
Care Tips
Like many philodendron plants, silver sword prefers a rich, well-draining soil. It likes bright indirect light, grows well with medium light and may tolerate low light but may not do very well. Avoid direct sunlight, especially during the hot days. Water the plant when the soil surface becomes dry. Avoid overwatering. Normal Room temperatures and humidity are suitable for silver sword plants. However, it does like higher humidity. Silver swords are not tolerant of cold temperatures and cannot stand frost.
