Description
Philodendron Brasil is a vining plant native to South America and a cultivar of the heartleaf philodendron and often has a combination of variegated and solid-colored leaves. Philodendron Brasil houseplant that can be hung as a basket or trained to climb trellises or moss poles. As the plant grows, it develops aerial roots along its stems that it uses to latch onto other plants or trees. New leaves may come in with a peachy-pink color before turning green. More redness than usual could be a sign of scorching from too much direct sunlight, under watering, or fertilizer issues.
Care Tips
Soil. Philodendron Brasil requires acidic loamy soil. If the plant becomes root bound in its pot, it will inhibit its growth.
Light. Philodendron Brasil grows best in bright, but indirect sunlight. Avoid direct sun to prevent burning the leaves.
Temperature. Philodendron Brasil prefers temperatures consistently above 60°F and grows best in warm, humid conditions.
Watering. Philodendron Brasil plants should be watered once a week, allowing the topsoil to dry out between waterings.
