Description The lemon cypress, or Goldcrest, is a dwarf evergreen tree with a tight, columnar and shrub-like shape. The plant is exceptional because its bright golden yellow color stands out from the common greens. The pleasant citrus fragrance of its foliage is another unique feature. Goldcrest can be grown outdoors or indoors. Can be planted to the ground or in a container. Care tips Goldcrest requires well-draining soil regardless of the soil texture. Two important care tips that is extremely important to keep these small trees healthy: 1. Goldcrest likes full sun and cannot tolerate shade. When grown outside, plant it to a sunny spot. Indoors, direct sunlight is also necessary. 2. Do not let the soil dry out or the plant will be damaged or die. Keep the soil moist all time but not over watering. Although lemon cypress likes low temperatures when grown indoors, it is not cold hardy in the USDA zones lower than 7.
